QUICK FACTS: 8 Prometric centers: Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad, New Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Thiruvananthapuram.
4 testing windows per year. Book at prometric.com/CPA after receiving your NTS. Pay the International Administration Fee through NASBA before scheduling.
You do not need to travel to the US to sit for the CPA exam. India has eight Prometric test centers across the country, and all four CPA exam sections are available at every location. This guide covers every city, the step-by-step booking process, testing window dates, and practical tips to secure your preferred slot.
The following cities have active Prometric test centers where the US CPA exam is administered. This list is confirmed by NASBA's official India testing page and Prometric's CPA program page.

Bangalore and Hyderabad have the highest volume of CPA candidates in India and consequently the most available exam slots. They also fill fastest. If you are flexible on city, these two offer the widest choice of dates.
Thiruvananthapuram has the fewest candidates and therefore the most open availability throughout the year. If you are in Kerala or can travel there, it is often the easiest city to get a preferred date.
Bangalore
Region: South India. Key employer hub for GCCs and Big 4 India operations. Prometric center locations include areas in central and north Bangalore. Highest overall demand. Book at least 6 weeks in advance during Window 1 (January to March) and Window 3 (July to September).
Mumbai
Region: West India. Prometric operates out of Goregaon (Techniplex) and Vile Parle. Popular with BFSI professionals and candidates at mid-tier US accounting firms. Good availability outside peak windows. Book 4 to 5 weeks in advance for Windows 1 and 4.
Hyderabad
Region: South/Central India. Second highest demand city after Bangalore. Strong GCC and Big 4 presence drives consistently high candidate volume. For Windows 1 and 3, book 5 to 6 weeks in advance. Window 2 (April to June) has better availability.
New Delhi
Region: North India and NCR. Covers candidates in Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Faridabad, and surrounding areas. Connaught Place and Rohini area locations. Moderate demand relative to Bangalore and Hyderabad. Book 3 to 4 weeks in advance outside peak windows.
Chennai
Region: South India. Covers Tamil Nadu, parts of Andhra Pradesh, and Pondicherry. Moderate demand. Good availability across most windows. Preferred by candidates in the city who want to avoid travel to Bangalore or Hyderabad.
Kolkata
Region: East India. Serves West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Northeast India. Lower candidate volume relative to South and West India hubs. Generally good slot availability throughout the year.
Ahmedabad
Region: West India. Covers Gujarat, Rajasthan, and parts of Madhya Pradesh. Moderate demand. Good availability. Useful for candidates who would otherwise need to travel to Mumbai.
Thiruvananthapuram
Region: South India. Covers Kerala and southern Tamil Nadu. Lowest candidate volume of all eight centers. Easiest city to find available slots at short notice. Worth considering if flexibility on city is possible.
The CPA exam runs continuously throughout the year with four testing windows. All windows are open to Indian candidates at all eight centers.

You can take different exam sections in different windows. There is no rule requiring you to sit all four sections in the same window. Most Indian candidates spread their sections across two to three windows based on their preparation timeline.
One important rule: all four sections must be passed within a 30-month rolling window. Once you pass your first section, the 30-month clock starts. Plan your window sequence to avoid letting early passes expire.
Before you can access Prometric's scheduling portal, you need your Notice to Schedule (NTS) from NASBA. The NTS is the key that unlocks exam booking. You cannot schedule without it.

Indian candidates pay an additional fee beyond the standard NTS exam fee. This is called the International Administration Fee, and it is charged by NASBA for administering the exam outside the United States.
As of 2026, NASBA's fee schedule sets the international administration fee at approximately $390 per section. This is paid per section per attempt, in addition to the base exam section fee of approximately $390. So the total cost to sit for one section in India is approximately $780, which converts to around Rs. 73,000 at current exchange rates.
This fee is paid through your NASBA CPA Candidate Account before you access Prometric scheduling. Without this payment confirmed, Prometric will not allow you to book an international slot.
The single most common mistake Indian CPA candidates make is booking too late.
As a general rule:
For Thiruvananthapuram, Kolkata, and Ahmedabad, shorter lead times are generally sufficient. Two to three weeks is usually adequate outside peak periods.
Prometric centers share capacity across multiple professional exams, not just the CPA. When slots at a preferred center are full, you have several options.
First, check nearby centers. If Bangalore is full, Hyderabad is approximately 600 km away and often has slots when Bangalore does not. Mumbai and Pune candidates sometimes travel to Ahmedabad, which consistently has better availability.
Second, check different time slots at the same center. Prometric releases slots progressively, and early morning or late afternoon slots that were previously unavailable sometimes open when other candidates reschedule or cancel.
Third, monitor the Prometric portal daily once your target window opens. Cancellations happen regularly, especially 2 to 3 weeks before the exam date. Many candidates secure last-minute slots this way.
Fourth, consider taking the section in the following window if no acceptable slot exists. Missing one window is better than sitting before you are ready. The 30-month rolling window gives you flexibility to sequence sections across multiple testing periods.
Print or download your NTS. Prometric requires it on exam day. No NTS means no entry, with no exceptions.
Which cities have CPA exam centers in India in 2026?
There are eight cities with active Prometric CPA exam centers in India: Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad, New Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, and Thiruvananthapuram. All four CPA exam sections are available at each center. Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Mumbai have the highest candidate volume and highest demand for slots.
How do I book a CPA exam at Prometric in India?
You must first receive your Notice to Schedule (NTS) from NASBA after your state board approves your application and you pay the International Administration Fee through your NASBA Candidate Account. Once you have the NTS, go to prometric.com/CPA, enter your Exam Section ID and date of birth, select India as your location, choose your city and preferred date, and confirm your booking. Use only the official Prometric website for scheduling.
Where is the CPA exam center in Hyderabad in 2026?
Hyderabad has an active Prometric CPA test center as of 2026. The exact street address and building details are shown in the Prometric scheduling portal when you select Hyderabad as your testing location. Confirm the exact address from your booking confirmation email rather than from third-party sources, as center addresses can change. The center is typically located in a central business district area accessible by major transit routes.
Where is the CPA exam center in Mumbai in 2026?
Mumbai has two Prometric locations that have historically served CPA candidates: areas around Goregaon (Techniplex Complex) and Vile Parle. The exact active location for your specific exam date will be shown in the Prometric scheduling portal when you select Mumbai. Always confirm the address from your official booking confirmation.
How far in advance can I book a CPA exam in India?
Prometric typically opens scheduling several months in advance for each testing window. There is no official earliest booking date, but slots become visible when NASBA activates the scheduling portal for each window. For high-demand cities like Bangalore and Hyderabad during Windows 1 and 3, book as soon as your NTS is active, at least 6 weeks before your desired exam date. Window 2 (April to June) has the most open availability and allows shorter lead times of 3 to 4 weeks.
What happens if the CPA exam center is full in India?
If your preferred Prometric center is full, check alternative nearby cities, different time slots at the same center, and monitor the portal daily for cancellations. Slots frequently open 1 to 3 weeks before exam dates. If no suitable slot exists in your target window, you can take the section in the following testing window without penalty, as long as your NTS and overall 30-month exam window remain valid. Do not sit for a section before you are ready simply to secure a slot.
